A Story Still Being Written

Our Journey.

“Every great story begins with someone daring to dream.”

A Stage for the Future began with a simple belief: that creativity can bring people together, that children deserve to have their voices celebrated, and that even the smallest act of kindness can inspire something extraordinary.

Chapter One · 2026

Where It All Began.

17–18 October 2026Limassol Municipal Garden, Cyprus

For two unforgettable days, the Limassol Municipal Garden became a gathering place for creativity, cultural exchange and shared experiences. Children, families, artists, performers and volunteers came together to celebrate imagination and the connections that make a community stronger. The inaugural edition of A Stage for the Future — organised by the Cypriots–Chinese Women & Children Association — was the first chapter of everything that follows.

Different Traditions. One Shared Stage.

Music, movement and tradition brought different cultures into conversation. From Chinese drums and lion and dragon dances to local performances and artistic expression, the festival created moments where people could discover something new and celebrate what brings us together.

Where Imagination Took the Lead.

Paintbrushes, colors, materials and curious hands transformed ordinary moments into creative adventures. Children were invited not simply to watch, but to participate, experiment and make something of their own.

The Spirit of the Experience.

Children's art at the centre, cultures meeting in the same garden, music and dance on the stage, workshops where families create side by side — and Lilibu, the character children meet along the way.

More than an event

More Than an Event.

A Stage for the Future is not a single weekend. It is an ongoing initiative that brings children, families and cultures together through creativity — exhibitions, workshops and shared cultural experiences that change with the people who take part.

The inaugural edition in October 2026 was its first chapter. What it began — the art, the connections, the charitable purpose — now continues.

Art without boundaries

Art Without Boundaries.

Children's art sits at the centre of everything we do. Our exhibitions present original works by young artists, and the Children's Art Forest turns a garden path into an outdoor gallery among the trees.

No one is asked to be an artist. Every child is simply given the room, the materials and the invitation to begin — and more than 400 young artists did exactly that in our first edition.

Cultures in conversation

Cultures in Conversation.

Chinese culture and Cypriot culture share the same stage, side by side and in the same spirit of connection: traditional dance, folk music, lion parades, storytelling and local craft.

The point is not to place one tradition above another. It is to let children see two cultures meeting in a garden, and to feel that both belong to them.

A stage for every voice

A Stage for Every Voice.

The Main Stage carries the heartbeat of the experience — from morning until night, with cultural showcases, live music, dance and theatre.

Performances at the first edition included Chinese drums with lion and dragon dance, an elegant guzheng and cello performance, cheerleading, and shadow puppet theatre for children.

Together, we create

Together, We Create.

The creative experiences are hands-on: painting, building and imagining alongside your family — a collaborative painting area, a wishing tree hung with hundreds of colourful ribbons, workshops and story time.

Around them sit the quieter pleasures of the day: a market street of makers and small treasures, a food village where Cypriot, Chinese and other flavours meet, and Lilibu's Treasure Shop, where collected stamps become a keepsake to take home.

Meet Lilibu

Meet Lilibu.

Lilibu is A Stage for the Future's own character — the friendly presence children meet throughout the experience.

Lilibu appears in the Explorer Passport that guides families around the garden, in Lilibu Story Time, and in Lilibu's Treasure Shop, where a full set of stamps is exchanged for a keepsake. The artwork below is our official mascot illustration.

Creativity with a purpose

Creativity With a Purpose.

Every part of the experience is built with a charitable purpose in mind. One hundred percent of the funds raised through the sale of children's paintings is dedicated to charitable giving.

That commitment applies specifically to the sale of children's paintings — it is the children's own work, and it is what gives the archive its name.
